ICA 2010 International Congress of Actuaries

Taking place in Cape Town from 7th – 12th March 2010, ICA 2010 is the first time that the International Congress of Actuaries will be held in Africa and presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for to visit South Africa.
A 5-day conference is planned, with two afternoons reserved for leisure and tourism, and social programme events throughout the week. To ensure relevancy, the Scientific Programme will be developed with the assistance of a representative and authoritative Scientific Programme Advisory Board. A mix of plenary and parallel sessions is planned, and a call for papers will be issued.
The congress will also be structured so that delegates can choose to attend the whole event or just the first or second half, depending on personal schedules and areas of interest.
The congress is also a great opportunity for visitors to South Africa to make the most of their trip through a variety of pre- and post-congress tours, and it is hoped that many delegates will bring their spouses, partners or families.
Cape Town Conferences ProgrammeDesigned to appeal to all actuaries, a scientific programme will be developed with sessions specific to all major specialisations alongside general interest, professionalism and other broad actuarial topics that cover technical and practical aspects of our work.
To ensure that a wide range of interests is appealed to and that high-quality papers are solicited, the programme will be developed with the assistance of a committee. This committee will draw representatives from the main IAA sections and the academic community and will as far as possible represent the major territories where actuaries are operating.
