The Mount Nelson conference venue in Cape Town exudes an aura of old-world comfort and Victorian style.
The Mount Nelson boasts 7 individual wings, separated from the main area, each with its own unique character, private gardens and facilities. Each of the 198 suites and bedrooms are individually furnished and provided with fully appointed private bathrooms.
Superior Room
The Superior Rooms are spacious and elegant, ideal for both singles or travellers accommodated by children. Guests can comfortably be entertained in a mini-lounge area and a writing desk, complete with stationery. All rooms have a marble bathroom which varies in size depending on the location of the room; equipped with a shower, bath, basin and lavatory. The rooms have a choice of twin or king-sized beds.
Deluxe Room
The 76 Deluxe Rooms has a charming and modern room type that features a living room, perfect to unwind. Each of the different rooms has a unique design located in the main building, Oasis Wing and Green Park.
Guests can comfortably be entertained in a mini-lounge area, and writing desk, complete with stationery, which is ideal for catching up on correspondence.
All rooms have an en-suite bathroom that varies in size depending on the location of the room; equipped with a shower, bath, basin and lavatory.
Junior Suites
The 11 Junior Suites comprise of a bedroom with a larger lounge area and rooms. Some of the Junior Suites offer a separate lounge whilst others offer an open plan lounging area.
An option of twin or king-size beds are offered with the choice of views ranging from landscaped gardens, Table Mountain, a private courtyard with fountain or a private garden overlooking one of the swimming pools.
A number of these rooms in the main area, interconnect with a Superior Room, making them ideal for families.
Deluxe Junior Suites
Situated in the main wing and the Green Park area these rooms offer refreshing natural light. This Deluxe Junior Suite has an open-plan lounge with spacious bedrooms.
Studio Suites
This luxury rooms offer a spacious open plan design, with a large lounge and spacious bedrooms. The Studio suites are situated In the Green Park, Helmsley and Taunton area with rooms featuring balconies and beautiful marbled bathrooms.
Deluxe Studio Suites
Perfect for families, this room allows for an extra bed or cot. The Deluxe Studio Suites can be found in the Green Park and Helmsley areas.
One Bedroom Suites
Found in the Main Building, Helmsley, Hof Vills and Taunton House area of the hotel with spacious bathrooms and a open plan lounge. Some rooms have balconys and others a wet bar.
Deluxe One Bedroom Suites
The Deluxe One Bedroom Suites offers an ultimate grand accommodation experience with Nespereso machines, large lounge, dining area and separate bathroom. This rooms can be found in the Main Building, Green Park, Helmsley, Hof and Taunton House with some of them having balconies.
Presidential Suite
Graham Viney's theme of soft hues and silky luxurious fabrics is continued in the suite; using white, cream and grey as the main colours, which take their cue from the hand painted panels of framed scenic wallpaper. The 1930’s light fittings have exquisite baccarat crystal drops and the desk is the original Louis-style desk from the lounge when it first opened in 1899. Mercury glass bedside lamps and a Venetian mirror complete the romantic and decadently lavish interior.
